What are AH Events and Activities?

Who We Are:

Abiding Homeschoolers is a Christ-centered, Biblically-based homeschool support group for the community of Aurora, Colorado and surrounding areas.  We offer education, information, support, encouragement and fellowship for home schooling parents, and offer wholesome, educational and social activities for our homeschooled children. 

 

“And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.  And these words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart; and you shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.  And you shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals on your forehead.  And you shall write them on the doorposts of your house and your gates.”  Deut. 6:5-9

 

Our Purpose

  • Honor God in all we do and say, and to be a light in our families and communities of the love and grace of Jesus Christ.

”Whatever you do, do all to the glory of God”  I Cor. 10:31

  • Encourage homeschooling mom’s in their efforts to obey God’s calling in their life to love, raise, instruct and disciple their children in the Lord at home.

”…that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home…” Titus 2:4-5

  • Offer education, information, support and a network of fellow homeschoolers to help meet the needs of homeschool families.

”And let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds.” Hebrews 10:24 

”Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor.  For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion…A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart.”  Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Events and Activities **

 

Mom’s Night Out: 

The first Tuesday of the month*, 7:00 PM at CCA.  During this time we discuss and/or teach on a chosen topic applicable to homeschooling, offer encouragement and fellowship.  (No childcare is provided, but nursing babies are welcome.)

           

Kids’ Presentation Day: 

The second Tuesday of the month*, 2:30 PM at CCA.  Children are encouraged to prepare and share a 1-3 minute presentation.  It could be a memory verse, book report, essay, science project, playing of an instrument, etc.  Afterwards is a time of fellowship for the kids.

 

Other Activities:

Field trips, Spelling Bee, Geography Fair, etc. announced via email as they are scheduled and planned by our members.

 

Email Communication:

Announcements, Community homeschool information, legislative updates, etc.

 

Where we meet:

All events are currently held at Calvary Chapel Aurora unless otherwise noted.
